Avoiding Probate - Perils and Pitfalls

Today's New York Times has an excellent article on the issues faced by people seeking to avoid probate.  The article explains some of the problems that can be properly dealt with when one engages in comprehensive estate planning.  A must read for anyone who owns assets, wants to avoid probate, or is involved in their own estate planning.  You can read the article here.

However, my in-laws have had one in place for years and they have noted many times how diligent one must be to ensure that virtually EVERYTHING (of any consequence) must be added to the living trust.
